Town Secretary's Department

The Town Secretary’s department is there to facilitate information dissemination, seek partnerships with private sector, facilitate twinning arrangements, stakeholder management and attainment of Plumtree Town Council’s vision and mission.

The department has the following 2 (two) sections:

1. Audit Section

The Audit section makes sure that there is compliance to systems and procedures as laid down in government statues and Council regulations. It gives advice to the whole organisation, including the Town Secretary.

2. Economic Development Section

The section is headed by the Economic Development Officer.

The key result area is to promote investment into the town.

Other key result areas for the section include:

a. To market the town through participating at Local and International exhibitions, dissemination of investment potential information.

b. Works with private sector to foster job creation, development, retention and expansion of local industries.

c. Process applications from investments and/ or develop projects from both local and foreign prospective investors and ensuring that investment proposals are processed expeditiously.

d. Spearheads investment promotion activities of Council including crafting of incentives for approval by Council, approaching potential investors with a view to attracting them to invest in Plumtree.

e. Assessment of applications for investors for industrial and commercial stands.

f. Organize an annual business expo in conjunction with stakeholders
